The Chinese smartphone giant, TCL had earlier notified its plan to release the latest smartphone by the mid of October. After passing the Wi-fi alliance and Bluetooth SIG certification, reports have it that the device has also cleared the compulsory Federal Communications certification (FCC).

According to the FCC listing, the latest smartphone goes by the name “Krypton”. The list also revealed that there are some graphics integrated with the device.

Even though there were certain images leaked, we still do not have a concrete idea about the specifications and design of the smartphone. If we go by the rumors, the Blackberry Krypton is expected to be an all-touch phone with a 5.2-inch Full HD display. The device could be powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor and a 4GB RAM. It will also be integrated with a fingerprint sensor beneath the display and a 4000mAh non-removable battery that is expected to deliver 48 hours of continuous backup. The device will run on Android Nougat 7.0 with water and dust resistance.

According to a report from GizmoChina, the “Krypton” could be another addition to TCL’s DTEK series. TCL’s Head of Global sales, Francious Mahieu stated that the smartphone will aim the business-oriented clients just like the Blackberry Keyone, but this time without a physical keypad. Mahieu during a speech said that “It will continue to be true in the future those keyboards are definitely a big element of DNA”.

The Blackberry Keyone costs around USD 549 and hence we can expect a similar pricing for the Krypton as well. Blackberry was once a major player in the smartphone industry but however, it failed to survive in the long run due to two major reasons: Adapting with the latest technology and competing with rivals like Apple and Samsung.

TCL still has a vision that the Blackberry Krypton will prove to be a turning point for the company. Mahieu during a speech stated,” We’re here to stay and we’re going to roll out more BlackBerry products in the coming years, starting this year”.
