The Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi seems to have decided to introduce their next flagship model with Qi wireless charging. After the Apple who recently joined the club, Chinese manufacturer may have also decided to step in this group.

The brand did not disclose anything officially about the wireless charging but it is spotted on WPC member website. As there is no official announcement regarding this but from the listing, the things are likely to be in favor of the addition of wireless charging feature by the brand.

Wireless Power Consortium was formed in 2008, with the aim to enhance the adoption of Qi charging technology. It was first highlighted when Nokia and Google adopt the Qi standards in 2012. After that, it becomes the standard feature for the flagship device of all the smartphones. The WPC has 243 companies on their list, which includes Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG, and Motorola. The Apple has recently joined the list by introducing their flagship model.

According to the report, the upcoming flagship of the brand will be Mi 7 that might be featured with wireless charging. Till now there is no official announcement by the company but the Wireless Power Consortium website lists show Xiaomi’s as its member. If Xiaomi is going to manufacture their phone with Qi standards then there is a probability that they might introduce it in their upcoming Mi 7 first.

It is expected that the Xiaomi will introduce wireless charging in Mi 7 first, which is going to be launch in the first quarter of 2018. According to the speculation, the Mi 7 might be featured with 6-inch OLED display opted from the Samsung, with Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM. The brand can also feature this phone with dual cameras and a ceramic design like as we see in the Mi 6.
