WhatsApp has added another feather to its cap by unveiling a unique feature that will help the users to switch from a video call to voice call immediately and its vice-versa is also true. Within three months of the announcement that was made in November 2017 by the Facebook-owned WhatsApp that it is going to come up with a version of messaging app, which will enable the users to switch directly from video calls to voice calls. Spotted by @WABetaInfo in the WhatsApp beta for Android, this feature can be used by the users who have the latest Android WhatsApp beta version. The version number of this WhatsApp Android beta is 2.18.4.
Although, there is no official statement from the WhatsApp regarding the launch of this new feature of WhatsApp. Nonetheless, soon this version with number 2.18.4. Will be made available to all the Android beta users of WhatsApp. Interestingly, there is a dedicated button that will be present in the WhatsApp Android beta version of the users, which will enable them to switch easily from video call and voice call without wasting time. Still, it is important for the users to know that the button will be visible to the users only when they are on a call via WhatsApp. Nothing much is known about the fact that if iOS users can enjoy this seamless switching button or not.
In this feature, the voice call icon will appear in the middle of the screen when the users if having an ongoing video call. As soon as the user clicks this button, the receiver of this call will get a request, which will allow the recipient of the call to switch the call from video to voice. As of now, the users need to end their video call first to switch to the voice call. This kills a lot of time and to speed up this process, this new version has been initiated by WhatsApp. When this version will get actually launched, then only we can learn how it is received by the users all across the globe.
