At last the much-awaited smartphone from Samsung, Galaxy A8+ (2018) gets rolled out in India at a price tag of Rs. 32,990. Back in December, the device was first unravelled in Vietnam and now it is released as an Amazon exclusive. The handset will go on sale from January 20 with launch offers that are still to be released. The unveiling of the Samsung, Galaxy A8+ (2018) took place today, at an event held in Delhi.

The smartphone’s sports an Infinity 6-inch FHD+ Display with Super AMOLED tech. The aspect ratio of the phone is 18.5:9 and screen resolution stands at 1080×2220 pixels. The handset runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage capacity, which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. Powered by the Samsung Exynos 7885 octa-core processor, the smartphone is accompanied by two cores – one is clocked at a 2.2GHz and the other one is clocked at 1.6GHz. The smartphone is IP68 certified, which means it is dust and water resistant and has the Always On screen amazing ambient display.

The device has a dual front camera setup of a 16-megapixel primary camera with a fixed focus of f/1.9 sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary camera of a f/1.9 image sensor having a Bokeh effect, which means the handset can offer a blurred background in the snaps. To adjust the Bokeh effect while taking self-portraits, the handset also carries a Live Focus feature. There is also a rear camera of 16-megapixel with a f/1.7 lens. The smartphone is also accompanied by a preloaded camera app that can provide a focused foreground. As far as the connectivity is concerned, the device includes USB Type-C port, 4G LTE, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth v5.0.
