Roland Quandt, who had earlier also unveiled information about Redmi in October 2017 has again tweeted. This time he has announced that the flagship device Redmi 5 from Xiaomi will be getting rolled out in “the second half of February”. This piece of information has created a new thrill in the smartphone world, as earlier it was reported by Slashleaks that the handset will be carrying an aspect ratio of 18:9. It was also tweeted by Roland earlier that the handset Redmi 5 will be made available in Gold and Black colour.
If one may recall in the past in October 2017, Xiaomi Redmi 5 was in the news with respect to its leaked specifications. The memory configuration of the handset is expected to be 16GB and 32GB storage variants with a dual camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary rear camera and 5-megapixel secondary rear camera sensor. The preliminary leaks highlighted that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be accompanied by a Snapdragon 660 processor or MediaTek Helio P25 chipset and a support of 4000mAh battery.
These leaks emerged in the past with the release of the smartphone Redmi 5A, but now the tweet by Roland shows that certainly there is a definite chance of Redmi 5 making its way to the smartphone market. He also tweeted “ Including LTE Band 20 making it work in full on certain Euro operators”. Only time will show how far this information turns to be true. As of now, it is better to swallow this with a pinch of salt as less than 15 days are left for February to come.
