HMD Global by introducing their trump card, Nokia 8 has already marked their presence in the smartphone market, establishing a powerful contender for it’s rivals. In order to set a benchmark for other brands, Nokia has packed Nokia 8 with numerous splendid features.
But are these features good enough to overtake the already existing flagship giants in the race, like OnePlus 5, LG G6, Samsung Galaxy S8 etc.?
Let’s compare and analyse.
Nokia has not only pushed their limits while manufacturing Nokia 8 but also has excelled in stuffing their flagship smartphone with performance enhancement features. HMD certainly doesn’t wants to compromise with performance here and hence, has equipped Nokia 8 with 6GB RAM – Octa Core 2.45 GHz Snapdragon 835 chipset, which is exactly what we have in the new OnePlus 5 and Samsung Galaxy S8.
These above mentioned configuration beats LG G6(4GB RAM – Quad Core 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 821 ) and Samsung Galaxy S8(4GB RAM – Octa core, 2.3 GHz Samsung Exynos 7 Octa 8895). Here, No doubt Nokia 8 leads the performance section along with OnePlus 5, leaving all the other contenders way back.
Following the tradition of dual rear camera lens, Nokia 8 has been armed with 13MP + 13MP rear camera sensors. While, the front camera is also a 13MP lens with auto focus. OnePlus 5 dominates camera section having 20MP + 16MP rear and 16MP selfie camera defeating LG G6 (13MP + 13MP rear & 5MP front) and Samsung Galaxy S8(12MP rear and 8MP rear).
Though, all of these flagship smartphones have manual capturing modes to customise the camera according to the needs but, it’s the picture quality which makes the difference.
Nokia 8 and LG G6 being the smartphones having 5.7 inch LCD display of 515 ppi differ from Samsung Galaxy S8 having Super AMOLED 568 ppi, big 5.8 inch display and OnePlus 5 having 401 ppi 5.5 inch display.
Storage being a main concern in smartphones these days, all the flagship smartphones are available in standard 64 GB internal storage but LG G6 is the one who leads this segment as it allows user to expand the memory till 2 TB whereas Nokia 8 lets user to expand a decent 256 GB same as of Galaxy S8. While, OnePlus 5 is the only phone which doesn’t allows external storage to be added.
Nokia has always been a brand that is known because of its build quality and battery. Nokia 8 seems to keep this Nokia tradition going as it has been powered by a sufficient 3090 mAh battery. OnePlus 5 and LG G6 are ahead when it comes to battery efficiency by a noticeable margin of 3300 mAh battery while, Samsung Galaxy S8 lies somewhere in the range of 3000 mAh battery same as of Nokia 8.
