An Xperia XZ series smartphone is the latest entry to the list of leaks and renders, with its upcoming model dubbed as Xperia XZ1 Compact, which has surfaced in leaked renders by Onleaks. A video render of the smartphone consisting of CAD drawings has been released by Onleaks, showing a 360-degree view of the smartphone ahead of its launch at the IFA 2017.
According to the video, the design of Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact is somewhat similar to that of XZ1 but with minute changes. While Xperia XZ1 has a curved edge design, the Xperia XZ1 Compact has straight, sharp edges. Sony has not been experimenting with the looks for a very long time and Xperia XZ1 Compact is yet another example of it.
The video further shows the glossy finish that Xperia XZ1 Compact has on all sides along with noticeable bezels. With every other manufacturer trying to enter into the bezel-less smartphone market, Sony has decided to stick with its already successful design, which includes bezels. The XZ1 Compact will also feature an all metal unibody design.
The power button, volume rocker and the shutter key continue to lie on the left side, while the right side features only one SIM-slot. Other specifications rumoured so far include a 4.6-inches display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. There is an audio jack on the top and a type-C charging port at the bottom. The device will have NFC support. It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The phone is expected to be IP68 certified-meaning it can be completely submerged in water to a certain depth and a certain period of time. It is expected to run on Android 7.1.1 out-of-the-box and support fast charging. As far as the camera is concerned, Xperia XZ1 Compact may have a 19MP sensor on the rear and 13MP front selfie shooter.
