Ready to challenge the counterparts Vivo and Oppo, Xiaomi has made Katrina Kaif, the brand endorser of Redmi Y series.

The launching event held in New Delhi unfolded firstly the MIUI9, which in comparison to Samsung J7 Max SE & 1 has accelerated playback and optimized thread scheduling. It switches in a snap and has India customizations. Keeping the security in mind, MIUI9 has a patch of KRaCK WPA 2 Security vulnerabilities. For the first time in the history of smartphones, this security patch is going to support a five-year-old smartphone like MI 2.

Interestingly, this Redmi Y1 selfie phone is available in two variants. The first one comes with 3GB RAM+32GB and the second one is accompanied by 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The first has been priced at Rs. 8,999, while the second one will be available at Rs. 10,999 respectively. This phone also supports 128 GB expandable memory.
