OnePlus launched its new flagship smartphone, OnePlus 5T today at an event in New York. The device will come with some new features including Gaming DND, OnePlus Reach to make data transfer faster and duplicate apps for social media accounts. The device also features Facial Recognition for unlocking the device. The OnePlus 5T will come running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and will receive Android Oreo update in December this year.
However, the company also revealed that it will be rolling out the Android Oreo Global ROM for OnePlus 5 users later this month. The device will be made available in India from November 21 with a starting price of Rs 32,999.
Price And Availability
The device comes in two variants – 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant priced at Rs 32,999 while the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant priced at Rs 37,999 in India. The device will be made available in India from November 21 through company’s online retail store.
OnePlus 5T Specifications
The OnePlus 5T comes featuring a 6-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The display comes with 80 percent screen to body ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. The internal storage offered by the device will be 64GB and 128GB. The fingerprint sensor has been shifted from below the display to back of the phone. The phone also features Facial Recognition technology for unlocking that uses 100 points on the face for authentication.
In terms of optics, the OnePlus 5T runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box. It sports a dual camera setup on the rear featuring 16MP + 20MP camera sensors with one wide-angle and one telephoto lens and a 16MP front selfie shooter. There have been few updates on the camera including the low light photography experience, better portraits better video stabilization.

The phone is backed by a 3,300mAh battery that features Dash charging that company claims to charge the phone up to 19% in just 6 minutes. The OnePlus 5T retains the 3.5mm audio jack but has not introduced the wireless charging. The device comes with dual SIM, 4G, VoLTE, USB Type-C support and much more.
