Chinese smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus, has announced the rollout of its new Android UI skin, OxygenOS 4.1.7 (on Android 7.1.1) OTA update for OnePlus 3 and 3T smartphones. It is the third OxygenOS update since June, when the company rolled out Oxygen OS 4.1.5. The update was quickly withdrawn and another update, OxygenOS 4.1.6, was released. A tweet by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei confirms that the update brings touch latency improvements.
The update brings Android security patch for August and fixes several bugs including the third-party app caused app locker bug. The complete list of improvements has been listed below.

Bugs fixed:
- Sound channel error while recording videos
- Call routed to speakers accidentally by third-party apps
- Rendering issue in Indian Kannada language
- The Hangouts will be removed if you have never updated it from Play Store, as requested by Google. So it is recommended to update Hangouts before downloading the OxygenOS 4.1.7.
The new OxygenOS update for OnePlus 3 and 3T is 413MB in size and the rollout will be incremental. Which means the update will reach only a percentage of users today, while the company will begin a broader rollout over the next few days. Recently, OnePlus also confirmed the Android O will be the last major update for these phones.
The OnePlus 3 and 3T are last year’s flagship by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer. Both devices are highly equipped in terms of software as well as hardware in the mid-range smartphone segment. With the company claiming that Android O will be the last major update for these phones, it may discontinue their sale soon after the update.
