The Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus set to launch in China tomorrow, the pricing of both the phone have reportedly been leaked ahead of launch. The phones have been subjected to various leaks recently. The company confirmed the design of both smartphones by posting multiple photos on Twitter. The company has, however, not revealed the price of the smartphones yet.
Both the phones are expected to be first to feature bezel-less display in a budget smartphone segment. Following the trend, Xiaomi will be introducing display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 on both the devices.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 Price
A recent report from Aliexpress, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will come with a price tag of $199 (approx. Rs 12,900) for 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant. A previous leak suggested that the Redmi 5 will be priced at CNY 1,399 (approx. Rs 13,600). The Redmi 5 Plus, on the other hand, is expected to priced at $249 (approx. Rs 16,120) for 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. Both the phones will be made available in four colour variants – Black, Blue, Gold and Pink.

13 days agoA seller on AliExpress listings with the name Xiaomi Online Store has leaked the pricing of the phone. The phones have been mentioned to be in pre-stage stage revealing some specifications that may vary at the time of launch.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 Specifications
The specifications of the phone were previously revealed in the TENAA listing. The listing suggested three variants of the phone – 2GB/16GB, 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. The storage will be expandable one and can be expanded up to 128GB. The phone will sport a 12MP camera on the rear while a 5MP camera on the front. It will be powered by a 3200mAh battery which is significantly smaller than Redmi 4’s 4100mAh one. The phone is expected to run on Android 7.1.2 with MIUI 9 skin on the top.
