The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus were launched at the iPhone’s tenth anniversary even at the Steve Jobs Theatre at the Apple Park campus today alongside the anniversary special device, the iPhone X. These devices were earlier rumoured to be an upgraded version of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but the speculations have come to an end.
The iPhone 8 comes with a 4.7-inch display while the iPhone 8 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch display. Both the iteration of iPhone 8 are similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus come in all glass back panel with stainless steel side panel that houses physical buttons. The display on both the devices come with True-Tone feature, a feature recently introduced in iPad Pro.
Both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus run on iOS 11 GM, the only OS that has had 10 beta versions ever. They are powered by the A11 Bionic processor, with is the fastest smartphone processor till date. It consists of 6 cores, two of which are high-performance Monsoon cores while the remaining four are low-performance Mistral cores. The iPhone 8 features 2GB RAM while the iPhone 8 Plus features 3GB of RAM. The internal storage variants of both the devices are 64GB and 256GB. The audio on both the devices is 25% louder than the previous Apple devices.
The three core GPU is 30 per cent faster than A10 Fusion. Similar to iPhone X, both the devices support wireless charging. There is Airpower mat charging option also that allows users to charge the phone by merely keeping the smartphone anywhere on the mat to charge wirelessly.
The iPhone 8 comes with a single camera setup on the rear while the iPhone 8 Plus comes with the dual rear camera setup, similar to iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The iPhone 8 Plus sports two 12MP camera lenses with one wide angle and the other telephoto lens with an aperture of f/1.8 and f/2.8 respectively. The real time lighting feature on both the device lets you adjust the amount of light in the image while capturing it or even after you have captured the photo. There is also Portrait selfie feature in both the devices. The camera features fastest video frames and devices each frame into 2 million tiles to provide clear and crisp video quality. There is the Augmented Reality support on both devices also that will provide a never before gaming experience.
Both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus come in 64GB and 256GB memory variants. The cost of iPhone 8 64GB memory variant is $699 while the iPhone 8 Plus will cost $799 for the similar memory variant. Both the devices come in Space Gray, Silver and Gold finishes.

6 days agoIn India, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available for pre-orders from September 23 and go on sale from September 29. In India, the company is expected to start shipping the devices by the end of November and may cost around Rs 60,000 and Rs 70,000 respectively.
