LG is not going to be seated in the back seat at the Mobile World Congress, 2018 tech show in Barcelona. It will take active participation by unveiling the upgraded version of LG V30, just like it did in the last year. If one may recall, the South Korean company was the first one at the MWC 2017 event to unravel its flagship device the LG G6. Despite saying that this time the company is not going to kick off the event with the successor of G6. Although, there is no official information regarding the name or the specifications of the handset, still with the recent press meet of CY Kim, MD of LG Electronics South Africa, it is clear that LG would be unveiling an upgraded version of LG V30.
Interestingly, LG launched the V30+ smartphone in India in the last December and the handset features a 6-inch QHD+ OLED FullVision display and also carries an 18:9 aspect ratio. Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, the smartphone runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat and is also accompanied by LG UX 6.0+ on top. Now, even the Android 8.0 Oreo update is also available for the device. The memory configuration of the handset is 4GB of RAM and have either 64GB or 128GB of inbuilt storage capacity options. As far as the camera is concerned, the LG V30+ comes with a dual rear camera setup. The primary camera has a 16MP sensor and the secondary has a 13MP sensor. The selfie camera has a 5MP sensor with a wide-angle lens and an aperture of f/2.2.
According to an earlier report of Korea Herald, the upgraded version of LG V30 will be named as “LG V30+ α”. It is speculated that the upgraded version of V30 will be embracing an improved Artificial Intelligence features, as LG has been reported to have joined hands directly with Google in order to develop the technology. As far as the successor of LG G6 is concerned, nothing could be said with certainty, but Kim has said that the debut of the device could get “little bit late”. However, one can take this news with a pinch of salt as it is reported that LG’s VP and CEO Jo Seong-jin has directed the mobile division of LG to start from the square one with the upcoming flagship device.
