The LG launched two of its budget smartphones LG K8 and K5 earlier this year. Now, sources have it that LG has launched the K8 smartphones with a price tag of Rs 9,999 against the current market price of Rs 11,000. However, the exact date of availability of the smartphone is not known yet.
The LG K8 features a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. The device offers 1.5GB of RAM and an internal storage of 16GB, that can be expanded with the help of a dedicated microSD slot. The smartphone will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front selfie shooter. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, NFC and USB 2.0. The device is backed by a 2,125mAh battery.
If the LG K8 launched around the same price, it faces a strong competition by best-seller Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and recently launched Micromax Selfie 2.
Talking of the competition, the Redmi Note 4 comes with an all metal unibody design and comes with a 5.5-inch FHD display with 1920×1080 pixels. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa-core processor clocked at a 2GHz processor. It sports a 13-megapixel camera on the rear and 5-megapixel selfie shooter on the front. The Redmi Note 4 runs Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 8 out of the box.
Other competitors include Micromax Selfie 2, which features a 5.5-inch display powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 Soc clocked at a 1.35GHz processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. It offers an internal storage of 16GB. There is a 13-megapixel camera sensor on the rear with an aperture of f/2.0, auto detection and Panorama Mode. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel camera sensor for selfie shooting. The device is backed by a 3,000mAh battery. There is a dual-SIM support along with VoLTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support.
