Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei’s much-anticipated flagship device Mate 10 is confirmed to feature Leica-branded dual camera setup. The company released a new teaser of its next flagship suggesting that the Mate 10 will join company’s lineup of dual-camera alongside P9, Mate 9 and P10 smartphones. The teaser also confirmed that the smartphone will be unveiled on October 16.
The teaser photo shared by the tech giant on its Twitter account confirmed that the Mate 10 will sport Leica-branded dual-camera lenses. The photo also shows the exact placement of the dual camera setup on the back. Similar to Mate 9, the upcoming Mate 10 will have a vertical setup on the back at the top centre.
In terms of optics, the video teaser shared by the company last week show the images captured by the Mate 10’s rear camera bokeh effects, highlighted colour contrast among others. The camera sensor seemed similar to Mate 9’s 20-megapixel monochrome and a 12-megapixel RGB sensors setup.
The Mate 10 came with #beyondgalaxy in the teaser image, which can be taken as a dig at Samsung’s recent flagships. Speculations that Huawei’s new flagship device will sport a bezel-less display that is termed as ‘EntireView’ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, which only LG G6 features till date. The device is expected as the company’s answer to latest flagships by Samsung, LG and the upcoming iPhone 8. Other reports suggested that the Mate 10 will feature facial recognition, AR support and 3D sensing.
The Huawei Mate 10 is rumoured to feature Iris Scanner and is expected to be powered by Huawei’s much-anticipated HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC, which is based on 10nm fabrication process. The device is rumoured to feature 6-inch display with 1080×2160 pixels resolution with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device is speculated to be priced at Rs CNY 4,000 (approximately Rs 39,000). The information remains shady as not much information is provided by the company, except for the fact that it will feature a dual camera and will launch on October 26.
