Highlights

  • Jio Rs 491 plan raised to Rs 499 within a week
  • Only the cost has been raised leaving the rest plan intact
  • For Prepaid users, Rs 499 plan not mentioned on official Jio website

Jio, which led to a mad rush in the last year is now rolling back all its alluring plans. Last week Rs 491 plan was introduced by the company to grab the attention of customers during Diwali. Not even a fortnight has passed and the Jio plan has seen a rise. Now, the same plan has been changed to Rs 499 taking the users by surprise. Although, it is a meager increment in the price. Still, it has left many astounded as the reasons are not exemplified by the leading telecom firm.

Strikingly, this plan when introduced was not much eye-catching as it falls in between the other two amazing plans Rs. 459 and Rs 509. In comparison to these two, this plan is not providing very lucrative offers. On one hand, where you are getting 1GB data per day for 91 days in this Rs 499 plan, you get 84GB data for 84 days on the other. The same is the situation with Rs 509 plan that gives consumers 2GB data a day for 49 days. Not only this, the company also curtailed the post-FUP speed across all plans. Earlier the speed was 128kbps, but now it has been reduced to 64kbps.

Jio

Currently, Rs 499 plan is missing from the Jio official website keeping the prepaid users bereft of the plan. There is one way by which subscribers can avail this plan by going to the MyJio app and buy the plan from there. Users can also go to the recharge section of the official site for the Rs 491 plan.

Initially, when Jio came into existence, this Rs 499 plan was introduced with 2GB 4G data per day. With the passing time, the plan got changed and the same benefits were given in Rs 509 plan that was rolled out during the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan Offer. Still, on a positive note, all these plans provide the customers free access to Jio apps, calls and SMS. Now users need to wait how many more changes will get introduced across the Jio plans from postpaid to prepaid in the coming days.
