Xiaomi launched a number of devices in 2017, out of which, the Mi Mix 2, Mi 5 and Mi Max 2 that come with Quick Charging support. However, the firm is shipping standard 5V-2A charger with these devices in India. The firm now has some good news for its users as it has launched Qualcomm certified Quick Charging 3.0 power adapter in India.
The firm’s EMUI forum post confirmed the news in a post that said, “”We’re delighted to announce that Qualcomm certified Quick Charge 3.0 charger will be now available on mi.com. This new charger can withstand voltage surges up to 380V and is compatible with Mi MIX 2, Mi Max 2, and Mi 5. Now forget about long waiting hours to charge your smartphone. Juice up your smartphone in no time!”
The power adapter is said to be newly designed that comes with automatic temperature control function that helps prevent overheating. The post has confirmed that currently only three devices – Mi Max 2, Mi 5 and the Mi Mix 2 will support the 9V 2A adapter.
However, the adapter that costs only Rs 499 is supported by only three devices but the company is seen trying hard to bring fast charging support to other devices as well. Having said that, the company introduced the fast charging support to the Mi A1 with Android Oreo rollout.
