The Huawei launched the much-awaited Mate smartphones – Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Design in the Mate 10 Keynote Event in Munich today. The Mate 10 is the first ever smartphone to feature an AI-powered processor with superfast charging and unique PC mode. It also features first-ever dual 4G SIM-card support. All the three devices will go on sale from November this year at a price of 699 Euro, 799 Euro and 1395 Euro respectively. Unfortunately, it will not be made available in India in the first phase of the sale and the company has also not specified the date of launching the devices in India.
Price And Availability
The Mate 10 will offer 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage at a price of 699 Euro (roughly Rs 53,000). The Mate 10 Pro will offer 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage at a price of Euro 799 (roughly Rs 61,000). The Special Porsche Edition will offer 6GB RAM and 256GB internal storage and will cost Euro 1395 (roughly Rs 1,07,000). The device will go on sale from November 2017. However, the company has not revealed the exact date of shipping the device.
The device has been launched in competition with the recently launched iPhone X and the Galaxy Note 8. The company claims that Mate 10 smartphones are faster than both the devices in terms of performance and in terms of fast charging as well.
The Mate 10 is available in four colour options including Champagne Gold, Black, Pink Gold and Mocha Brown. The Mate 10 Pro is available in Titanium Grey, Mocha Brown, Midnight Blue and Pink Gold. The special Mate 10 Porsche Design smartphone is available in single classic ceramic black colour.
Huawei Mate 10 Specifications
The Mate 10 features a 5.9-inch Full View display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The RGBW/HDR display comes with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Edition features a slightly larger 6-inch Full View display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The display on all the three devices comes with an outstanding 70000:1 contrast ratio that is optimised for reading and browsing. The display is capable of delivering up to 14 percent power saving even in intense sunlight.
All the three devices are powered by Huawei’s latest Kirin 970 processor with AI support making the Mate 10 first ever smartphone to feature AI supported processor. The devices will run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box atop EMUI 8.0. The Mate 10 offers 4GB of RAM while the Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche design offer 6GB of RAM.
The Mate 10 smartphones come with a symmetric design with iconic design pattern and perfect harmony mixture of metal and 3D curved glass design – the luxurious glass with a multilayer film. The Mate 10 is IP53 certified making it splash and dust resistant while the Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Design are water and dust resistant with IP67 certification.
Huawei Mate 10 Camera
The Huawei Mate 10 is the first ever smartphones that houses a dual camera setup that features dual ISP and AI engine. There is a 12MP RGB camera sensor and another 20MP monochrome sensor and both the sensors come with an aperture of f/1.6. There is also 4-in-1 hybrid focus and Huawei hybrid zoom. The camera setup also comes with AI support with over 1 million images learned precisely to provide real-time object recognition. There are 13 objects and scene recognition options with the device.
There is also a front selfie shooter with a resolution of 8MP that also features AI Selfie, Bokeh, Portraits among much more.
Other Specifications
The Mate 10 allows 64GB of internal storage, Mate 10 Pro allows 128GB of storage and Mate 10 Porsche Edition allows 256GB of internal storage. The internal storage on the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro can be expanded up to 256GB with the microSD hybrid slot that uses the SIM2 slot.

There is also a split screen mode that allows you to perform two tasks simultaneously and a PC mode that allows you to turn your smartphone into PC just by connecting it to a PC via simple USB Type-C cable.
