Apple iPhone X was the first phone to ditch the TouchID completely and come with facial unlock feature. After which many smartphone manufacturers including OnePlus introduced the facial recognition feature for unlocking the phone and now the Xiaomi is reported to introduce the feature to its upcoming smartphone, Mi 7.
This will be done with the help of a 3D sensing technology to unlock the phone. There are reports that the upcoming Mi 7 will be first smartphone from Xiaomi to do so. MyDrivers suggests that may also be an in-display fingerprint sensor. The in-display fingerprint sensor is expected in upcoming phones from Vivo and Huawei and recently speculated OnePlus 6.
GizmoChina has also reported that the renders of the phone reveal an on screen fingerprint sensor and not a physical one. The multiple reports make it unclear as to what will be the final product from Xiaomi and will have to wait until the official statement.
Phones including OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T, Huawei Honor View10 and iPhone X come with facial recognition feature.
