Xiaomi finally launched the much-awaited smartphone Mi Mix 2 at an event in New Delhi today. The device features a bezel-less display, similar to its predecessor, Mi Mix which was a limited edition device and was sold only in China. The device is available for pre-orders exclusively on Flipkart starting from October 17.
Mi Mix 2 Price And Availability
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 offers an internal storage of 128GB priced at Rs 35,999. The Mi Mix 2 will face competition with OnePlus 5 and LG G6 that offer similar specifications in this price range. The device is Flipkart exclusive and pre-bookings will start from from October 17. Offline availability will start from the first week of November.
Mi Mix 2 Specification
The device features a 5.99-inch bezel-less display or what Xiaomi calls it Full-screen display 2.0 with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is company’s second iteration to bezel-less display design. The AMOLED panel on the device has been manufactured by Samsung and comes with a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels. The phone also comes with highest screen to body ratio in any smartphone till date.
The smartphone will run on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box atop Xiaomi’s custom Android skin MIUI9. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 540 GPU.
Rear Camera
On camera front, the device sports a 12 MP Sony IMX386 camera sensor on the back alongside a dual-LED flash and 4-axis optical image stabilizer (OIS). The camera records 4K videos at 30fps and 720p videos at 120fps. There is a 18K gold plated decorative camera rim. The fingerprint sensor is placed just below the rear camera.
Front Camera
There is a 5MP camera sensor in the front that is located on the chin on the right side of the phone. The front camera is capable of recording 1080p videos.
Other Specification
Following the trend, the Mi Mix 2 has ditched the audio jack. The standard edition of the device comes in ceramic black colour. The Mi Mix 2 houses 7-series aluminum alloy frame with new antenna technology. The device houses Global LTE networks with 6 modes and 43 bands. To back all of this, there is a li-ion battery with a capacity of 3400mAh battery.
The Mi Mix 2 has been launched in the festive season ahead of Diwali. The earlier stock of Mi Mix 2 ran out of stock in just 58 seconds after its launch in China. It is for us to wait and watch what new milestone Xiaomi accomplishes in India with this new device.
